AI Isn't the Problem, We Are | Discover Magazine

In the Surfing the Tsunami book this week I read chapter 2 and 3 and the part that stood out to me the most is how Artificial Intelligence is a science and it is important for our future. In order for our world to continuously improve and keep growing science is needed. Therefore, since AI is a science AI is in our future and is needed.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that focuses on creating intelligent machines that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. AI has the potential to transform many areas of society, including healthcare, transportation, education, and finance. As AI continues to evolve and improve, it has the potential to create new industries, revolutionize existing ones, and solve some of the world's most pressing problems.

Science, in general, is essential to the growth of the world. Science is a systematic and evidence-based approach to understanding the natural world and solving problems. Scientific discoveries and innovations have played a critical role in advancing human civilization, from the development of medicine to the exploration of space. Science has also been instrumental in solving many of the world's most pressing problems, such as climate change, disease, and poverty.

Moreover, science is important because it provides a framework for understanding the world around us. It allows us to ask questions, test hypotheses, and discover new knowledge. Science is a constantly evolving field, and as new discoveries are made, our understanding of the world grows and expands. This, in turn, leads to new technologies, products, and services that can improve our quality of life and drive economic growth. In conclusion, AI is just one example of how science is driving progress and innovation, and it will undoubtedly continue to shape the world in the years to come.
